Me and my 8 year old piled up on the side of a mountain in a transition spot from pines to hardwoods. Wind is swirling but it is a pretty site when these leaves start falling.

I’m sitting in a shooting house in Pickens co-sign Trevor, my wife is about a 1/4 mile away with JT.
I hope it’s a good morning. I realized this morning only 2 more youth hunts for me after 40 years of them either as a young hunter or helping one. Maybe the grandkids will let me tag along some. Good luck all

Had the 2 1/2 year old 7 slip across the Rd about 6:10. I was in the middle of telling Stephen he didn't need to be playing on his iPod when he said there's a buck. Just glad it wasn't the 8 or 6 we are after.

Trevor and I are waiting on anything deaf and blind. He loves the idea of hunting and likes to go he’s just a wiggle worm and loves to talk

And it was probably someone hunting with a youngster, so the youngster is being trained as a thief also.

My son just shot at a doe. Don’t see blood yet but I’d be shocked if he didn’t hit her. Don’t know how good of a shot but she jumped and spun and ran like she was hit. 50 yard broadside shot. The kid can shoot straight. He took his time and was patient and squeezed. I’d be shocked if he missed her. My buddy and his boy are coming down and we’re going to go look together. Fingers crossed. This would be his first solo deer.

Congrats on the dawg drive buck thats super cool.. Really really surprised they even allow dog drives during youth season. My first hunts were dog drives and it great that tradition continues.

Saw 7 with my oldest. Youngest saw 3 with my dad. We were buck hunting this morning. We’re deer hunting this afternoon.

Congrats. Don't have a kid today but will take the young man that killed one yeaterday tomorrow afternoon. PaPa gave me a knife yesterday for helping his grandson and I cut the crap out of my finger last night messing with it.

Wes and I are set up on a long foodplot on the edge of a cutover and some 10 year old pines. He has the green light on a nannerhead this evening.

Mighty quiet up here at Stimpson. Only deer seen so far was in the headlights riding in. I've only heard 2 shots all day and I am not 100% that they were on the management area.

I brought my daughter to Pellahm Range today. Perfect weather. Just need the deer to show up.

We had a great hunt. Missed a big doe that was in the field when we arrived and half hour later 6 more walked out. This one got a free ride home with us. 100lbs on the nose and one happy yute.

So the property owner of my little piece of bama land wanted to take his grandson youth hunting this year so me a Eli headed to Tennessee with bows in hand again. We were held hostage for a hour after dark by a group of does. The does never got closer then 45 yards but it was a awesome afternoon in the woods with him. We saw deer from 230 until dark. I hope we can have a afternoon like that again once fun season opens.

Ashley got her a nice buck at Fred T Stimpson special opportunity hunt. We didn’t see anything this morning. We went back out at 1:30 and setup on a food plot. We had a coyote come by right after we got there but she couldn’t get a shot. At 3:00 a doe came out but Ashley didn’t want to shoot her. She said she wanted to wait for a buck. The buck came out an hour later and she made a perfect shot at 100 yards with the 20 gauge. It took us probably 20 minutes to climb down and find the deer which only ran 15 yards out of the field and in that short time a coyote had pulled the deer’ guts out.

Damn yotes. That's crazy fast. Congrats to both of you.
