I've hunted next to Stacey's my whole life. Run across a good buck every now and then. Deer #'s wont wow you. But then again my club was recently clear cut, so our #'s have been down. What is the clubs name if you don't mind me asking?

Same here, hunted around there my entire life and I'd say deer numbers are up instead of down, way way to many does for sure. I only hunted twice this season and saw 12 the first evening I went and 22 the next time I went. we are about to start knocking them down around our place once all the cotton and peanuts are planted around our place and we get the permits.

Why didn’t y’all kill some when they could be eaten if they are that bad?

My camp is the just north of Stacey's. Been buying our seed from them for years. I stated earlier our #'s are down on that club cause it was closest to Stacey's. It use to be loaded with nice bucks, until they sold the farm we surrounded and it became a cow farm. Stacey's use to alternate corn/soybeans each year. It was awesome hunting. I also have another 600 acres on the other side of skinnerton (5 min give or take) the deer #'s are a lot better there. We have taken some fine bucks on that property over the 3 years I've had it, we have killed 10 bucks all but 3 have weighed more than 175lbs. Guess what I'm getting at is, it really depends on what track you have as to mature deer it holds. I have a buddy that is giving up 800 acres at 83&47 after turkey season. It's an expensive lease, or I would pick it up.

What’s the reason he is giving it up? My property is at the intersection of 47/83

He is paying a lot of $$ for it, and he doesn't hunt it enough to justify keeping it. He has a few smaller leases down here around loxley that he mostly hunts.

Is it leased thru a timber company or lands owner.. I might be interested if he’s letting it go

I will get more info on it. I know the lease is around $10k for 800 acres. I don't believe it's timber company land.

I don't have time for it, I'm in forestry and deer season is my busy season, if I take a day or two off I usually duck hunt outa state. My dad, brother, and others that deer hunt took a few out, just not enough.
