Got an email from Florida FWC about their proposed season changes

Interesting way to get feedback if people respond. Florida FWC has proposed changes for small game seasons and wants responses via the online survey. They did the same thing two years ago before dividing the state into Deer Management Units among the A-B-C-D Zones.

Hmm, a survey of hunters. Seems ... useful. Not worthless. But I digress.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) staff have drafted proposed rules to expand small game hunting opportunities on selected wildlife management areas. These rule changes, which will be considered at the April Commission meeting, would impact the 2017-2018 hunting season.

Small game hunting seasons offer sustainable and accessible opportunities to experience the benefits of hunting. Expanding small game hunting opportunities on public lands aligns with FWC initiatives to engage more people in the outdoors and create future conservation stewards.

Thank you!

Wow.....what a unique concept!!

And, imagine utilizing Public Lands for something besides deer and turkey hunting!!!

FWC is pretty darn good at using public input to help shape decisions/regulations. I have been personally involved with them (am currently) on drafting regulations for the state's most important game fish. Their goal is sound management that is help guided by public input.

It's been five years since I've hunted there, and I've also bought fishing licenses since then, so I guess I'm still on their email list. I don't answer the surveys since I don't live there.

It certainly seems like a good idea to use hunters' or anglers' emails with a survey via email to get input. I don't know their response rates — perhaps 33 percent is outstanding, like GameCheck — but I'd have to think in today's electronic world they'd get a good response with short surveys that could be done in just a few minutes online.

I am seriously considering joining a hunting club there this Summer due to the ever-increasing Regulations of hog hunting combined with the reduced access due to the popularity of hog hunting in Alabama.
Hog Hunting has become a High Dollar $$$ business here.

And that's why hog populations will never decrease.

With the money that is involved in the business of managing hogs......only a fool would remove the hogs from the equation. And that is a fact!

They ask your opinion, but usually have their mind made up on what they're going to do.

This exactly. FWC is evil and does what they want. All they cause are problems.
