North Alabama hunting land - 01/21/17 05:28 PM

What is the going rate for hunting land in the Athens, Decatur area? Does anyone know how good the deer are?South side of the river across from Browns Ferry Nuclear plant area or so.

If an opportunity to hunt some rarely hunted land in that area came to you, would you jump on it?

It appears to be great looking Midwest style hunting.

Very good deer in that area if you're talking about West of Decatur in the Trinity area.

I took the dogs and squirrel hunted mallard fox creek this afternoon. It was loaded with deer sign. It's bow only and a short season so I don't know how hard it gets hunted.

I've hunted it a few times this year. Seen some deer, but no shooters. He's extremely strict with the rules and times I could hunt this year, only with him and when he says. Been very frustrating, but I see it paying off in the end. Great areas.

Average acre price, club I'm on now is in walker county, and my knee can't take the hills. Think it's about $10 an acre there.
