I'll start this by saying, I'm not as good of a story teller as alot of y'all are. So, forgive me.
Well, this morning started as any other morning hunt, except, this morning had a couple of firsts for me. This was my first morning hunt with my new(to me) Model Seven. It is also the first time I've bought a used gun. And finally, the first time I've shot anything with Partitions.
After about a 1/2 mile walk and a short ride in the pirogue, I was in my stand. I always put my bibs on in the stand after I cool off from the walk in. I had just got through putting them on, when I see a young deer come walking past me. About 20 minutes later I see a coyote slipping through the woods offering no shot. I do the whole squeaky with my mouth trick, to no avail. 10-15 minutes later, I'm scrolling through Aldeer when I hear footsteps. I look up and there's that coyote walking past me with a deer front leg in its mouth. I grab my rifle and dispatch him. Dropped in his tracks.
About an hour later, I see a buck come cruising through the woods behind me. I see his rack and thought his tines looked short, but his body looked hugh in the woods. I couldn't pass him up. I whistled to stop him. He stopped and I squeezed the trigger. Dropped him in his tracks.
I really think I'm gonna like that Model Seven 7mm SAUM.
